Go Noodle helps kids get moving with short interactive activities. These "brain breaks" can help students achieve more by keeping them engaged and motivated throughout the day. These last around 3-4 minutes and can be done in a fairly small area. We do them throughout the day in class, and the kids love them! Be sure to try some at home!
Scholastic Study Jams is a wonderful resource for Math and Science. It includes videos, slide shows, step-by-step tutorials, and other activities for over 200 topics. It utilizes multiple teaching formats to reach students of all learning styles.
Pearson Game Center has a variety of fun, interactive games that practice third grade math skills. Have FUN while practicing Math!!
RoomRecess has many fun and educational videos and games. These videos and games reinforce fundamental learning concepts in Reading, Math, Spelling, Language Arts, Typing, and Problem Solving. There is even a Trivia activity! Be sure to check it out!
This is a wonderful reading resource for kids and parents! It has a variety of children's books read aloud by famous celebrities! Close captioning can be used, so students can see the words as they are being read. It also "animates" the pictures in the book, so students can get a visual of what is being read. The site includes monthly featured books, newly added books, as well as classic favorites. Be sure to check out my favorite - Harry the Dirty Dog read by Betty White!
This is a wonderful website provided by Scholastic to assist students as they are learning at home. Once students select their Grade Level, there are Daily Reading Assignments. These are high-interest passages on a variety of topics!
